Bangladesh to get more help from Rotary International

The installation of Rotary International Bangladesh District-3281 was held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka on Friday.

Chaired by Rotarian Shereen Bon, the event was addressed by Holger Knaack, Past International President of Rotary, AKM Mozammel Haque, Minister of Liberation War, Nurul Majid Mahmud Flumayun, Minister of Industries, Tipu Munshi, Minister of Commerce, Enamur Rahman, State Minister for Disaster Management, MA Wahab, District Governor, Governor Ashrafuzzaman Nannu, former Governors and other leaders.

Addressing the event, Holger Knack said the world’s largest Rotary International would provide more assistance to Bangladesh in implementing future humanitarian programs, a press release said.

The ministers said that it was not possible for the government to solve all the problems.

Rotary’s work in various natural disasters, including floods and corona, is commendable, they said.

Regarding the Tk 100 crore spent by Rotary on public welfare in the last financial year, the ministers said it will inspire other individuals, organizations and institutions.

Speakers called on the wealthy to stand with the nation’s defenseless people.

They also mentioned the need to support Rotary’s social activities, the statement added.
