Daka and Leicester focus on the Conference League… in Rome

Chipolopolo Boys striker Patson Daka and his Leicester City team-mates have now focused on the UEFA Europa Conference league.

The Foxes are coming off a 3-1 away defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and will be keen to seal their passage to the Conference League final.

Daka returned to the starting line over the weekend and completed a 67-minute shift in the loss to LillyWhites.

With Jamie Vardy back from injury, it’s unclear who will start for Brenden Rogers, but the Englishman is a priority in such a high profile game with Kelechi Iheanacho and Daka likely to start from the bench.

Daka and his teammates have a chance to reach a European final and add another piece of gold to the club’s growing roster.

City have since left for Rome – the Eternal City – determined to write more history in Club folklore on the European stage.

It is even 1-1 after the first leg at Leicester last week. Lorenzo Pellegrini’s opener for Roma was equalized with an own goal from Gianluca Mancini on Filbert Way, but it was City who took the upper hand for much of the game. The raucous atmosphere of the Stadio Olimpico will add to the sense of occasion this week.

Marseille or Feyenoord will be the opponents in Tirana later this month. In just over 24 hours, we will know if it will be Roma or Leicester City who will join them there.

The Foxes will face Roma in the second leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League semi-finals. City will try to reach the final of a European final for the first time in the 8pm kick-off on Thursday.
