St. Theresa d’Avila Catholic Middle School recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of its office building and the addition of a new lobby and reception area.
The school is in the process of renovating the current office building, built in 1959. Plans include the addition of an office for the Religious Education Coordinator, Discipline Officer and School Guidance Counselor. school. The renovated area will include an administrative wing that will house the offices of the director, deputy director, director’s secretary and a new conference room. A new teachers work area, restrooms and lounge will also be added as part of the 2,713 square foot plan.
Capital Construction LLC has been selected as the contractor for the project, which is expected to be completed in August.
The office renovation and addition of the new addition is the first phase of a multi-phase plan to renovate the 63-year-old campus, according to a news release. The addition/renovation will provide teachers, administrators and adjunct teachers with more space to meet and collaborate.
“It also opens up space for people who used to share offices to have their own space,” a press release read. “It will also give St. Theresa Middle a real visible entrance to the school. While we do great things within the walls of St. Theresa Middle, we are ready for the exterior to start to match what is happening. go inside.”
