Oklahoma City Stamp Club to host Okpex June 24-25

The 2022 Okpex Stamp Expo will be held June 24-25 at the Reed Conference Center, 5800 Will Rogers Drive, Midwest City, Okla., just 5 miles east of downtown Oklahoma City on the Interstate 40. Okpex is Oklahoma City’s annual stamp expo. Club.

Show times are Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Okpex exchange (sales area) will include 11 dealers from six states.

Show attendees can enter a raffle for a used 1847 United States 5¢ Benjamin Franklin stamp (Scott 1) ​​in mint condition with a certificate from the Philatelic Foundation.

The Oklahoma Philatelic Society will hold its annual meeting on Friday, June 24 at 2 p.m. The Oklahoma Postal History Society will also hold an annual general meeting at the show.

For the fifth time at Okpex, the local chapter of the American Topical Association will organize a roundtable. The American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors will also host an open forum about the exhibit.

The show will feature more than 100 multi-frame and single-frame competitive exhibits. In addition to these exhibits, space is available for youth and single-frame postcard exhibits.

Because Okpex is an issue of the American Philatelic Society’s World Stamp Series, the multi-frame grand prize winner is eligible for the Champion of Champions competition at the Great American Stamp Show August 25-28 in Sacramento, California.

The winner of the 2022 Single Frame Okpex Grand Prize will be eligible for the Single Frame Championship at the Chicagopex show November 18-20.

Ken Trettin will be the chief judge of the exhibition. The other jurors will be Dan Walker and Bob Hohertz.

An awards breakfast will be held on the morning of Saturday, June 25.

Okpex will also welcome visitors to a hospitality suite at the Sheraton Midwest City Hotel at the Reed Conference Center on Thursday and Friday evenings.
