TOTTENHAM are reportedly looking to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres and will offer Giovani Lo Celso in a swap deal.
Spurs have long been linked with the Spanish centre-back as Antonio Conte attempts to bolster his options at the heart of their defence.
Manchester United and Chelsea are also watching Torres as they seek to resolve their centre-half issues.
But Sky Sports Italy now report that Spurs are ready to offer midfielder Lo Celso on a partial swap deal.
The 26-year-old Argentine has been loaned out to Villarreal for the second half of the 2021/22 season.
And he started 11 of their 16 La Liga appearances during the run-in, while also making all six European knockout ties en route to the Champions League semi-finals.
Tottenham are happy to offload him and want to include the former Paris Saint-Germain player in a move for Torres.
However, the report says a deal will ‘involve’ Lo Celso, implying that a financial package may also need to be included.
Torres started 33 of Villarreal’s La Liga appearances last season, keeping 12 clean sheets.
His run to the last four in the Champions League also proves he can compete at the highest level – something Conte is keen to bring to Spurs as they return to Europe’s premier competition.

Torres is a full international for Spain having already made 18 appearances for his country, scoring one goal.
As a result, he was valued at around £45million.
Torres could be attracted to a move to Spurs this summer as Villarreal won’t be in the Champions League next season.
Despite their run to the semi-finals, they only finished seventh in La Liga – a position that allows them to qualify for the Europa League Conference play-off round.
