The Delta State government has insisted that the need for an international conference center in Asaba, the capital of Delta, cannot be overstated.
The state executive council recently approved N5.1 billion for the construction of an international conference center in Asaba.
Speaking in Asaba, the Chief Economic Adviser to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu noted that there is a great need to have the world standard conference center.
Emu said Asaba has become one of the fastest growing cities with associated infrastructure, relative peace and central location.
He said an international conference center with a wide range of modern facilities would provide jobs and boost economic activities for Deltans.
According to him, the conference center would complement the growing status of Asaba Airport as envisioned by the state government’s integrated development plan.
Emu described the state’s economic growth as gradual, albeit with some challenges.
“The governor has done well in terms of infrastructure, job creation, human capital development and he is focusing on commercialization, industrialization, especially in the agricultural sector,” he told reporters. journalists.
